So its been awhile since we've blogged. We are usually on Facebook. I've been selling Avon lately and letting Livia help.
She is really into whatever I am doing. So, with a bit of Youtube inspiration, we are going to start making videos together. Hope you enjoy this bit of comedy with a 4 year old applying makeup. Click here!

Garage Sale to raise funds for adoption
I know this is last minute but we wanted to get it in before the cool days of fall/winter arrive. We are working with a birth mom. We are so excited to say that a little bundle of joy is on the way. We need to raise a little more to help with this adoption. So we are having a garage sale. We are taking donations of items too. The sale is this Saturday Oct 18 from 8-3. 1500 Waverly Pl, Joliet. We are taking offers on everything so that we don't have a lot of time spent tagging everything. Trusting God for the amount raised. So if you have stuff you want to get rid of, we can help you out. Also having a few volunteers here for that day would be great.

Adoption isn't for the faint of heart.
Kudos to NCIS. I just watched an episode where they portrayed a tough situation regarding adoption. Most TV shows and movies make adoption look so easy. They gloss over the difficult parts and show a loving couple with a new child. NCIS showed a situation where the birth mom changed her mind after giving birth. The character on the show was devastated but encouraged by Gibbs to not give up. Having experienced some tough, but not nearly as tough, situations in adoption, I appreciate the realism portrayed.

Found an awesome fundraiser! We are raising funds for adoption for our family and for the apparent project at the same time. These paper bead bracelets from Haiti are so pretty. Each one comes with a tag that shows the person who made it. We are selling them for $8 each. In Haiti when a family can no longer provide for their children they send them to orphanages. This program helps the families stay together by giving the mothers and fathers an income. They also take donations of cardboard to help make the bracelets. Check out the website. http://www.apparentproject.org/

All'asta
So, as a stay at home mom I sometimes get the urge to work but want to work from home. I think I found something to do. Yes, It's a party type company but the parties have a twist to them. There is a silent auction during each party and guests are encouraged to bring items to sell. Wow, even the guests can earn some money! I'm hosting a party this Saturday at 10 AM--message me if you want to attend and haven't told me already. Here's the catalog. I'm considering becoming a consultant for them so if you can't make this party please let me know if you want to host a party.
An additional note, the consultant for my party has decided to donate her commission to our adoption fundraiser. She read my facebook posts and asked if she could do that. So awesome.

ebates--I love rebates and here you can get money back for whatever you buy
I love saving money and just tried this site out. I bought a gift online at walmart (clicked walmart link from ebates.com page) and to get free shipping I added some grocery items. The groceries came the next day and I got an email saying ebates.com has some money for me. It's not much but every cent counts.

Please visit our fundraising page at You Caring
We've set up a fundraising page at you caring. Soon to follow incentives for giving.... Adoption costs money. We need help for this one. The route we took with Livie was expensive. We used a traditional agency. The plan this time is to meet with an adoption attorney who works with local crisis pregnancy centers in Illinois. There will be attorney fees and home study fees. After we find a match there will be medical and possibly some living expenses for the birth mom. We are really excited about this opportunity. We will be meeting the attorney in January. So we also ask for your prayers on this journey.
